Holding Space Training with Daniela Stevens

What you'll learn:

  • Playfully master the art of holding space even for conflicting parts of yourself

  • Practice active listening techniques that deepen trust and connection even within yourself

  • Learn frameworks for navigating sensitive topics with care so you’re not at war with yourself

  • Develop a rich vocabulary for expressing what’s working well and what you might be curious around exploring during self-pleasure and/or partnered sex so you don’t find yourself speechless

  • Build confidence in exploring what feels good in your body in this season of your life

This experience will support your self-talk and communication around sex, pleasure, and vulnerable topics. We’ll go through:

  • A playful holding space training

  • Exploring four questions in our own bodies that can invite more of what feels good with forearm self-touch

FOR QUEER FOLK, HETEROSEXUAL PEOPLE, ASEXUAL PEOPLE, SINGLE PEOPLE, MARRIED PEOPLE, SEX WORKERS AS WELL AS THOSE PRACTICING CNM OR MONOGAMY

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Individuals who want to stop being at war with themselves

  • Partners wanting to deepen their intimate connection first with themselves

  • Those exploring new dimensions of their sexuality

  • Anyone looking to develop more comfort discussing intimate topics

SKILLS & CAPACITIES WE WILL STRENGTHEN:

CLARIFY what kind of touch feels best to you in the moment without needing to stick to a script or your go-to moves

CONNECT to what it takes and feels like to hold space with a sense of unconditional love and acceptance for all parts of you

COMMUNICATE curiously with yourself four questions around what feels good, and listen when other parts of yourself react

HEAL shame, judgement, hurt, avoidance, disconnection, and being at war with yourself

EXPLORE a loving and compassionate space within you where all parts of you are welcome, and you choose how you want to feel and act

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN DETAIL:

  • Before you arrive and as we start, you’ll be invited to create a space—ideally in your bedroom, and the couch or kitchen table works, too—wherever you have sound privacy and feel comfortable and safe enough.

    You can also bring what invites the most presence and connection for you.

    Having a candle to light sets an energetic intention to focus on yourself.

  • I will introduce myself and the practices we'll be moving through.

  • We'll begin with a guided meditation for meeting yourself and coming into presence and connection as well as naming our intentions.

  • I’ll guide you to locate a resource within you or just outside of you for any time you feel overwhelmed, panic, or a sense of flashback. We’ll finish by arriving and orienting to the space before we move on.

  • Learn a process for intentionally noticing negative self-talk in a pillow process inspired by gestalt methods while you share and listen to different parts of yourself in a light and playful manner before settling into embodying a space for your deepest truths and desires to emerge.

  • Continuing with verbal guidance from me around touching your own forearm, you'll explore four questions that can direct you toward more of what feels good:

    - How is the speed?

    - How is the pressure?

    - How is the location?


    - How is the style or stroke?

  • You will be given time to write and process around the following topics:

    • What did I experience?

    • What did I feel?

    • What did I learn?

    • What would support me to feel cared for, supported, safer, and more grounded in myself as I leave the space and head into the rest of my day?

  • As we come to a close, I’ll give you a sense of what to expect while continuing to process and integrate this experience as well as how to apply it in your day-to-day life.

I am Daniela

I use she/they pronouns, and I am a trauma-informed, somatic attachment therapy certified Sex & Intimacy Coach, speaker, and writer practicing somatic abolitionism and appropriated neo-tantra. Named one of the ten best Sex & Intimacy Coaches of 2023 by DatingAdvice.com, I support couples and individuals to ripen into the best sex and intimacy of their lives through co-creating a Sex Practice. This provides a framework to experience deep sexual connection and intimacy with themselves and with their partner(s).

With over twenty-four years of experience coaching people one-on-one and teaching in college classrooms and yoga studios, I curate exercises and practices steeped in attachment theory, neuroscience, embodied conflict resolution, trauma resolution, modern psychology all inspired by ancient tantric and taoist wisdom.

For me, nothing is more important than connection.
