4 Reasons to Get Clear on How You Want to Feel

I get it.

I do.

You want to lose 10 pounds (or more).

But you want cookies (or chips or fudge or booze) more in the moment, and so you lose sight of your goal.

If you take a second, just one, grab a scrap of paper or open up an email message to yourself, and write down one word.

That one word?

I want it to be the word that describes how you want to feel if you were 10 pounds lighter.

<waiting one moment>

What does it say?

Beautiful?
Hot?
Confident?
Desired?
Worthy?

When you are 10 pounds lighter, will you really be any more

Beautiful
Hot
Confident
Desired
Worthy

than you are now?

When I look at you, I have to say, sweetness,

YOU ALREADY ARE.

I get it, though, sometimes that's not enough, and a little voice within undermines it even as a smaller part of you allows for the possibility that it might be true.

The point I want to make is that your goals might not, and probably won't, lead you to feel the way you want to feel.

Instead FLIP THE SCRIPT.

Instead of starting with the typical resolutions and goals (lose 10 pounds, go on a tropical vacation, change jobs, earn that promotion), get clear on how you want to feel, and then figure out what to do after that.

Here are four reasons to get clear on how you want to feel:

REASON 1:

When you get clear on how you want to feel, it's easier to find the small, daily activities that make you feel that way.

REASON 2:

When you're finding small, daily activities that fulfill your desires, the journey you're on becomes more satisfying.

REASON 3:

When you're feeling the way you want to feel each day, when you're blossoming open along the journey, you don't have to wait until your goals are achieved. You're feeling the way you want to feel nowYou don't have to sacrifice now for something that may or may not come later.

REASON 4:

You're feeling the way you want to feel more and more every day with every decision you make. And you know what happens next? You come to know yourself better. You come to know what feels good for you, what makes you light up. You spend less time feeling bad and making excuses for the people and tasks that drain your energy. Instead you're clear and focused on what makes you feel blissadventureinspiredwhole-heartedabundance, and/or brave instead. And then — duhn duhn duhhhhh — you THRIVE.

In 2017, sweetness, light up your desires and feel how you want to feel.

LIGHT IT UP.

You deserve it.

May every desire be yours,
Daniela
